T & T ELECTRIC, INC. was founded in 1983 by Leonard and Suellen Tanaka. We are an Electrical Contracting firm providing all phases of electrical construction and maintenance services to a variety of customers throughout the Big Island as well as the State of Hawaii. Service areas include: residential, commercial, industrial, utility infrastructure, data, telecommunications, fiber optics, burglar alarm systems and traffic signals. They also provide emergency repair service for residential and commercial customers on the East side of the Island.
The company is based out of the main office in Hilo, at 456-A Kekuanaoa Street and has a branch office in Kona, at 73-5577 Lawehana Street.

 
Mr. Leonard Tanaka serves as President and Responsible Managing Employee (RME) and is responsible for the long term corporate strategy, business policies, customer relations and bids for large-scale projects.
Leonard obtained an electrical Contractor's license in 1983 and organized T & T ELECTRIC, INC. He obtained the "B" General Building Contractors license in 1993 along with C-17, C-31A and C-3 as well as "A" General Engineering Contractors license. His background includes all phases of residential, commercial construction and renovations.
Leonard has an extensive background in all phases of electrical construction, maintenance and repairs on residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional systems. He is also experienced in pole and line construction, energy management, data / telecommunications / fiber optics, home automation, and fire and burglar alarm systems. |

Mrs. Suellen Tanaka is Vice President and responsible for the accounting and administrative staff.
She has background experience in banking and accounting. Operating responsibilities include supervising the Accounting Departments and Human Resource Departments.
Leonard and Suellen were selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration as "Small Business Persons of the Year" in 1992. Their recognition as "Small Business Persons of the Year" included both the State of Hawaii and Region IX, which includes the western United States and Guam. |

 
Mr. Thomas Raffipiy serves as General Manager and Safety Officer, and is responsible for Project Managers, Human Resources, Administrative matters and Safety issues.
His educational background includes: U.S. Army Engineer School - Fort Leonardwood, Missouri: Honor Graduate 1988, University of Hawaii School of Business: BBA Degree in Business Administration Kennedy, Western University -MS/Ph.D. Degree Candidate in Engineering Management
He has 17 years experience with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, with the last 11 years as Construction Supervisor. Experience includes vertical construction, steel frame building, civil infrastructure work, road and highway construction, as well as overhead and underground utilities. Served as First Sergeant in Iraq, Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003- 2005. |

Mr. Herbert Ishibashi is the Senior Estimator and Project Manager responsible for project bidding, project management, cost control and quality control.
A licensed Electrical Contractor and former owner of Aloha State Electric, he has 40 years of background experience in the construction industry.
Herbert's experience includes all phases of electrical work on power plants, airports, substations, subdivisions, shopping centers, hospitals, apartments / condominiums, hotels, schools and churches. |

Mr. Ben Kobayashi is the Subordinate RME, holding the secondary "C-13" Electrical Contractors license and is also responsible for estimating and project management.
He is a licensed Electrical Contractor, Supervising Electrician with 20 years experience.
Projects he supervised include: Safeway Kona, Keahole Terminal Improvements PH 1 & III, Tripler Hospital Library Renovations, Kauai Community College Energy Management Retrofit, Honolulu Community College Energy Management Retrofit, Waiakea Shopping Center and Home Depot Kona. |

Russell is in charge of the Field Operations of West Hawai'i with over 32 years of experience.
Projects he supervised include: Heeia Wastewater Treatment Plant, Lowe's Home Improvement Center - Kona, Kekailani Development, Pauoa Beach Development, Matsuyama Market & Shopping Center, Queen Kaahumanu & Malulani Drive Traffic Signals, Wainani Estates Off-Site Water Improvements & Electrical.

Larry attended Illinois Institute of Technology located in Chicago, Illinois, where he was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy mostly in the Engineering and Operations departments aboard ships.
After his service was over, he undertook a new career in Accounting. He completed his studies and was awarded a Master's of Science degree from Golden Gate University. He worked in the San Francisco Bay Area for a several years as an accountant for an accouting firm.
He returned to Hilo to help care for his parents and resumed his career as an accountant. In 2005, T & T Electric, Inc. hired him as their Controller. |
